Our kids are learning from home this week, and we

Our kids are learning from home this week, and we thought it would be a good idea to give you a glimpse of what virtual learning looks like!

Consistency and familiarity is very important for our children, so our teachers strive to re-create the classroom experience in the child's home. Virtual bags are sent home with the kids that include lesson plans for the week and materials for the activities they'll be doing. Those lesson plans are tailored to each class and individual students through a team effort that includes teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and behavioral therapists.

Bitmoji classrooms are another great tool the teachers use, which allows them to re-create the classroom feel while streamlining the day's lessons. New slides are posted every day for parents to look at for activities to do with their children. Each day's Zoom classroom meeting is also posted in case a child wasn't able to attend, giving families flexibility so they can participate in the day's learning around their own schedule.

Our staff and our families have done an incredible job over the last 9 months of being flexible, innovative and adaptable to allow our kids to get the very most out of their time with The Center, whether they are in the preschool or at home. Their commitment to transforming challenging starts into unstoppable futures, no matter the obstacles, is a shining example of what #allforkids means.
