About The PLAY Project
Child development is the basis for future learning, skills and competencies. A child’s brain is growing and developing at incredible rates before the age of five. Play is how children learn best, making it an integral part of their development. Through play, a child learns the social skills needed to share and collaborate with others. Play encourages positive cognitive development as well as positive social-emotional growth.
The key to setting a child up for future success is to be aware of their development during these early years. If typical developmental milestones are not being met, it is critical to step in right away. Intervening early, while a child’s brain is still developing, allows for maximum impact and lifelong benefits. Changing the trajectory affects not that child and their family, but the entire community. Every moment matters.
